James Witherspoon, Ph.D., Professor of Physiology

With degrees from Purdue University, Dr. Witherspoon taught at colleges or universities in Indiana, Maryland, Tennessee, Arizona, China, Hungary, and Lithuania before joining the faculty at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences.  He is an author or coauthor of five biology books, (including Human Physiology, Harper & Row, Publishers), seventeen audiovisual tapes (Narco Bio-Systems), and two computer programs.  His professional interests are mainly thermoregulation, hypoxia, endocrinology, and diverse ways to teach physiology.
