Lex Towns, Ph.D., Assistant Dean of Basic Sciences & Head, Division of Anatomy & Professor of Anatomy
Dr. Lex Towns is excited to be part of the inaugural faculty at PNWU. His graduated from Colorado College and earned a Ph.D. in psychology from Indiana University. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the department of psychobiology at the University of California Irvine.
In addition to his teaching duties, Dr. Towns serves as the Assistant Dean of Basic Sciences for the College of Osteopathic Medicine. His research interests include the role of neuroendocrine factors in pain perception and placebo effects and the structure and function of the visual system.
Prior to moving to Yakima, Dr. Towns taught for more than 30 years at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. He is a member of the American Association of Anatomists, Association of Anatomy, Cell Biology, and Neuroscience Chairpersons,and Sigma Xi.
When he’s not busy at the work, Dr. Towns and his wife enjoy exploring all the wonders of the Yakima Valley and the Pacific Northwest.
